A team that walks the walk

We practice Agile daily, even at home. We are a 100% remote team, so we also deal with the challenges of honoring the principles of Agile despite not being co-located.

Meet Our Team

CEO

I’m a two-peat business founder. My first business, TeraSys Technologies, had a cadre of loyal customers because we delivered pioneering wireless products that our customers couldn’t find anywhere else.

One of the greatest benefits of owning my own business was the ability to experiment with techniques to improve team performance. I’ve spent the past 12 years perfecting processes for getting things done faster, eliminating wasted activities, and improving collaboration.  Essentially, drinking the Agile Kool-aid.

I’m a proud Trekkie. I have the schematics of the NCC-1701D, so yes, ST:TNG is my fave of faves. Captain Picard is my hero, and we even share the same drinking cup! (His is filled with Earl Grey, hot. Mine: single origin coffee made in a pour-over).

I have an MSEE from UCLA and a BSEE from the University of Hawaii. I’m also a certified Project Management Professional and Professional Scrum Master.

My areas of expertise: Project Management; Agile & Scrum; Business Development

Industries: Government, Technology/hardware/software, Startups, Hospitality, Event Management

I’m a true-blooded engineer.  I’m equally comfortable sitting on a lab bench tuning a circuit board as I am building website front ends.  I’m your typical “kid who played with electronics from a young age” engineer, so I know this is where I belong.

But I also consider myself an evolved engineer.  I am not that guy that likes to sit by himself and write code all day long.  I need to collaborate, share ideas, and celebrate wins with my team.  Streamers, cake, beer, whatever.  I’m good with it!

Working in a small business is where it’s at for me.  In my short career, I’ve had unbelievable opportunities to build mixed signal RF circuits, SAAS front end software products, and websites.  I’m conversant with back-end frameworks, and pride myself on becoming a rock-solid full stack developer.

I received my BSEE from the University of Hawaii.

Areas of expertise: Software front end design

Industries: Government, startups

I started starting startups in the late 1990s using AI techniques for the financial markets and then for enterprise software. I’m proud to say that one of my startups, Inquira, was acquired by Mr. Ellison’s company, Oracle. That. Was. A. Good. Day.

After the acquisition, I kept myself busy by becoming awesome at chess and poker, and was looking for what to do next. I discovered Scrum, and we hit it off like peanut butter and jelly. Since then, I’ve become a Certified Enterprise Coach, and I’m privileged to have worked with the likes of Carbonite, Paypal, and Symantec.

I’m also quite the writer now, having co-authored two books on Agile: Professional Scrum with TFS and Why Agile Works: The Values Behind the Results.

In my copious free time, I’m also an angel investor and mentor at Techstars. These days, you can find me and my girlfriend in San Francisco.

I received a Bachelor’s, Masters, and PhD, all in Computer Science, from MIT.

My areas of expertise: Agile, Scrum;

Industries: Finance, insurance, government, startups

I’m a lifelong project manager with a passion for lean thinking. After majoring in Industrial Engineering, I applied my education first to manufacturing and then to software development. I love helping organizations eliminate waste from their processes, then guide them towards Agile values and principles that align with their organization’s vision and goals. I’m  a highly experienced trainer with expertise training on Scrum, Kanban, Lean and more.

In addition to working with large organizations undergoing an Agile transformation, I’m equally comfortable providing lean and Agile start-up consulting to new and growing businesses. As an entrepreneur myself, I understand the challenges of maximizing the value of day-to-day activities.

I regularly use these practices in my own businesses and have created a lifestyle where I can provide these services to clients all over the country while now calling Oahu my home which allows me to enjoy my other passions of  hiking, yoga and surfing.

I received a Bachelor’s of Science in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from the University of Massachusetts.  I hold certifications as a PMP,  PMI-ACP, and a CSP.
